Aspen Science Center STEM Exploration Hour

Join the ASC once a month at your local library for an exciting FREE program! Designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), this program offers an enriching experience for children aged 5 to 13 and their families. STEM Exploration Hour offers a diverse range of captivating, hands-on activities to bring STEM to the forefront. Each month we delve into a unique area of study, including engineering, snow science, neuroscience, and more! Our emphasis is on hands-on learning with our interactive science activities. Whether it’s building structures, conducting experiments, or unraveling mysteries, everyone can look forward to a fun-filled, immersive experience that sparks scientific curiosity. This program is designed to be inclusive, welcoming the entire family! Parents, guardians, and siblings are encouraged to participate in the exploration and discovery. It is a fantastic opportunity for families to bond while fostering a shared interest in STEM. Join us to be inspired and challenged!

Oran Mor Holiday Concerts

All six of the Garfield County Libraries will host Oran Mor as part of this year’s Holiday Concert Series. The band performs a rich repertoire of Scottish and Irish music, some of which dates back to the 1700s, along with more contemporary Celtic, Americana, popular and original compositions tossed into the mix. PAWS to Read

Practice reading in a fun, supportive environment with a four-legged friend! Therapy dogs from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley will be at the library to listen, encourage, and enhance each young reader’s experience. There will be 15-minute time slots for readers (1st-5th grade), and advance registration is required. For the well being of the dogs, only the readers will be allowed in the room with the dogs and specialists.

Dungeons and Dragons: Adventures in Candlekeep

Come ye brave adventurers! Great mysteries and secrets lie within the great library-fortress of Candlekeep, and you have been tasked with finding them! This adventure is best suited for those aged 12 and above, but accommodations can be made should any child adventurers wish to join. There is limited space in our party so please sign up at the front desk should you wish to join.
