Pop Quiz: What do Gabby Douglas, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber have in common? Not sure? What about Jane Austen, Nora Roberts, and Maeve Binchy? Is that one easier? If you’re more interested in who’s topping the bestseller lists than who’s atop the Olympic podium, than the Garfield County Library 2012 Author Olympics are for you!
Your librarians have been busy searching the globe for the best of the best in fiction and now YOU, the citizens of Garfield County, can be a part of determining who will receive (fictional) Olympic gold and who will be left behind in the stacks.
Rules and Regulations:
Authors from various countries will compete head to head in the following genre events:
Graphic Fiction
Literary Fiction (alive)
Literary Fiction (dead)
Mystery
Romance
Science Fiction/Fantasy
Thriller
Young Adult Fiction
Winners from each genre competition will compete in the final Fiction All-Around.
Competition will take place between July 27th and August 12th on the library’s facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/gcpld.
