Join local author Cianan Puckett at our Comics Festival at our Glenwood Springs Library on Saturday May 3rd. Cianan is a cosplayer transplant from Idaho and now makes Clifton his home. He is a fantasy novelist, author of the Void Sleep Walker Series. The first volume, Never Without Hope, will be the subject of the presentation. Cianan will talk us through his process of writing and creating a whole fantasy world while dealing with the effects of ADHD/ADD and how he puts that energy into world building.

Calling all chess players and those interested in learning! We’ll get together at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library to learn, practice, and challenge each other in this timeless game of strategy. VOICES, in partnership with One Small Step & StoryCorps, as well as Garfield County Libraries, invites youth (ages 10-16) and sage (ages 75+) members of the community to a safe and welcoming space to cultivate story sharing and deep listening. We’ll get together from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Thursday, April 17 and also on Thursday, May 15. We’ll share stories to learn about one another and understand the intricacies of life. Snacks and a skilled facilitator will be provided. This adventure is best suited for those aged 12 and above, but accommodations can be made should any child adventurers wish to join. During this special SPARK event you can practice reading in a fun, supportive environment with a four-legged friend! Therapy dogs from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley will be at the library to listen, encourage, and enhance each young reader’s experience. There will be 15-minute time slots for readers (1st-5th grade), and advance registration is required. For the well being of the dogs, only the readers will be allowed in the room with the dogs and specialists.

Join your Garfield County Libraries and the Garfield County Public Health Department for a series of open conversations about different mental health issues. The conversations will alternate each month between the Glenwood Springs and Rifle Branch Libraries, and will also be streamed through Zoom.
