Join the ASC once a month at your local library for an exciting FREE program! Designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), this program offers an enriching experience for children aged 5 to 13 and their families. STEM Exploration Hour offers a diverse range of captivating, hands-on activities to bring STEM to the forefront. Each month we delve into a unique area of study, including engineering, snow science, neuroscience, and more! Our emphasis is on hands-on learning with our interactive science activities. Whether it’s building structures, conducting experiments, or unraveling mysteries, everyone can look forward to a fun-filled, immersive experience that sparks scientific curiosity. This program is designed to be inclusive, welcoming the entire family! Parents, guardians, and siblings are encouraged to participate in the exploration and discovery. It is a fantastic opportunity for families to bond while fostering a shared interest in STEM. Join us to be inspired and challenged!

Suzanne Asha Stone and Dallas Gudgel from International Wildlife Coexistence Network will provide their expert interdisciplinary assistance, training, collaboration, and shared research to enable communities to coexist with wildlife. Join Anna Marie for an evening of popular jazzy tunes from 1930 to the present. Kicking off with an Anita O'Day- inspired version of Georgia on My Mind and ending with Miley Cyrus' Flowers, Anna's dynamic contralto voice is sure to please. As a child, Anna learned to love big band music from her maternal Grandmother who was a music teacher. As a lifelong feminist, Anna developed a perspective on songwriting that helped her hone in on egalitarian queues that may not be so obvious to the average ear.

This special event is co-sponsored by the Town of New Castle's Climate and Environment Commission who will also facilitate a Q&A after the film with invited guests. Narrated by David Oyelowo, ELEMENTAL: REIMAGINE WILDFIRE takes viewers on a journey across the nation with the top experts to better understand fire. The film starts with the harrowing escape from Paradise, California as the town ignited from wind-driven embers and burned within a few hours of the fire's start. The film includes the voices of climate experts, Indigenous people, and fire survivors, and asks us to reimagine wildfire as we prepare for an increasingly hotter future.
