“An Artful Market Day” is an exhibit of 50 works of art by members of the Glenwood Springs Art Guild that will be on display at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library during open hours from March 31 through May 16. Visitors will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite works of art, with awards being presented by the Art Guild to the winning artists when the exhibition closes May 16.

GCPLD Celebrates National Poetry Month and invites writers of all ages to submit up to 3 poems for a Haiku Contest and Poetry Journal
Haiku is a Japanese poem of 17 syllables, in three lines of 5, 7, and 5, traditionally evoking images of the natural world Contest submissions must be original work in standard haiku form, and received by April 16th. Winning haiku poems will earn a gift certificate for an ice cream cone!

Calling all chess players and those interested in learning! We’ll get together at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library to learn, practice, and challenge each other in this timeless game of strategy. VOICES, in partnership with Garfield County Libraries, invites youth (ages 10-16) and sage (ages 75+) members of the community to a safe and welcoming space to cultivate story sharing and deep listening. We’ll get together from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library on Thursday, April 17 and also on Thursday, May 15. We’ll share stories to learn about one another and understand the intricacies of life. Snacks and a skilled facilitator will be provided.
