Join us at your Garfield County Public Library for a special summer presentation with Myles Bullen. Myles Bullen is a genre- fluid, art-poet, ukulele-playing punk rapper, from Portland, Maine. As a person in long term recovery from addiction, Myles sings and screams songs about grief, mental health, addiction, navigating identity, relationships, and cartoon lore. Performances are geared for teens, but open to all.

Imagine Land is in trouble because people are not using their imaginations like they used to. In this wild and zany award-winning album for kids (ages 1-100), Will Parker and his band take the listener on a grand adventure fully of unique and magical characters. Along the way, with the help of the listeners, they use their imaginations to save Imagine Land from disappearance!

Come ye brave adventurers! Great mysteries and secrets lie within the great library-fortress of Candlekeep, and you have been tasked with finding them! This adventure is best suited for those aged 12 and above, but accommodations can be made should any child adventurers wish to join. Practice reading in a fun, supportive environment with a four-legged friend! Therapy dogs from Heeling Partners of the Roaring Fork Valley will be at the library to listen, encourage, and enhance each young reader’s experience. There will be 15-minute time slots for readers (1st-5th grade), and advance registration is required. For the well being of the dogs, only the readers will be allowed in the room with the dogs and specialists.

Join award-winning Colorado author Laura Pritchett for a presentation of her recently released sixth novel, "Playing with Wildfire." Laura has published six other novels, two nonfiction books and is the editor of three environmental anthologies. She has been the recipient of the PEN USA Award, the Milkweed National Fiction Prize, the WILLA, the High Plains Book Award, several Colorado Book Awards and others. She directs the MFA program in Nature Writing at Western Colorado University and holds a PHD from Purdue University. The event is free and light refreshments will be provided.
