Film Screening: The Public

Adults are invited to the Garfield County Libraries for discussions and showings of the 2018 film “The Public” starring Emilio Estevez. This David versus Goliath story tackles some of our nation’s most challenging issues, homelessness and mental illness, and sets the drama inside one of the last bastions of democracy-in-action: your public library.

The first showing will be at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14 in New Castle. Then on Thursday, June 15 there will be a showing at 6 p.m. in Silt and at 6:30 p.m. in Parachute. Next, we’ll host a showing at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12 in Carbondale. The final two showings will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 13 in Glenwood Springs, and at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 24 in Rifle.

This is part of the Summer Reading Challenge for adults. It's free and open for all to participate.
