Glenwood Springs became a branch of Garfield County Libraries in 1969.
Partnering with Colorado Mountain College, construction on the building housing the new Glenwood Springs Branch was completed in September 2013. The building is comprised of two stories. On the first floor guests will find 14,000 sq. ft. of library space including a 250-person community room, a 12-person conference room, and three 4-person study rooms. In addition, an outdoor community plaza provides a place for the public to relax and enjoy the Colorado sunshine. The second floor is made up of 4,000 sq ft of library meeting space which can be used as a classroom for up to 92 people, and 10,000 sq ft of Colorado Mountain College meeting space.
