Volunteering

Volunteer at the Library

Volunteers provide much-needed services at all of our Branch Libraries. These services vary by the volunteer’s personal interest and each branch library’s needs. Volunteer opportunities are available in the following categories:

  • Shelving/Shelf Reading
  • Program Assistance
  • Youth Services
  • Repair Assistance
  • Book Sale & Donations Assistance
  • Office Work
  • Short-term or Special Projects
  • Publicity/Community Liaison

If you are interested in sharing your talents and expertise with the Garfield County Public Library District, please contact the Branch Manager at your preferred library. You will need to complete a Volunteer Agreement and read through the attached Confidentiality Policy.  Volunteers ages 12-17 require parental signature.

Volunteers are also needed to help our friends at Literacy Outreach. Literacy Outreach is a local non-profit organization which combats adult illiteracy in Garfield County. Tutors are always needed! For more information, please call Literacy Outreach at 970-945-5282 or click here.
