Lisa Detweiler Service Award

Do you know someone who loves to help others in our community?

Your Garfield County Libraries are seeking nominations for the second annual Lisa Detweiler Service Award.

This award is given in honor of Lisa Detweiler who worked for the Garfield County Libraries at the New Castle Branch Library for five years. Nominees should reflect Lisa’s determination to welcome and serve our diverse communities and her commitment to fulfill our communities’ needs.

Lisa had a great love and respect for the communities she served and provided excellent service to everyone. She greatly respected the diversity in the community and had a deep appreciation of various cultures. Lisa was a bilingual speaker and she crossed cultural bridges and barriers by valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community. She paid attention to the community’s needs and collaborated with numerous non-profit organizations throughout Garfield County. She had a heart built for service. Her smile and personality made everyone feel welcomed and valued.

We invite you to nominate a non-profit employee or volunteer, or a first-responder who demonstrates extraordinary service to the local Garfield County community. Nominees can be of any age or background, but must be a resident of Garfield County, Colorado. 

Nominations are due by July 31, 2024. 

The award winner will be announced at the Library District Hispanic Heritage Festival in Rifle on Sunday, September 29.
