Sean Gaskell will share with us a unique concert featuring songs on the kora – a 21 stringed West African harp. The kora is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots. Many songs featured on the kora preserve an 800 year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire. Gaskell studied under the extensive instruction of musicians in Gambia and Senegal and has performed for all ages in hundreds of shows throughout the United States and Canada.
All concerts are free and you are welcome to attend the event that best fits your schedule.
